CF flanges are available with either tapped or untapped holes. Tapped flanges come in UNC/UNF or metric threading options. These flanges feature through holes, allowing bolts to slightly extend beyond the back of the flange when secured to an untapped flange. Untapped CF flanges can be joined together using stainless steel bolts and hex nuts or plate nuts. Plate nuts self-center over two adjacent holes and can be steadied with one finger as the bolts are tightened. They are offered for a range of flange sizes, spanning from 1 1/3 to 10 inches (33.96-254mm) in outer diameter. As a substitute for hex head bolts, 12-point bolts are an option for CF flanges sized between 2 3/4 and 10 inches (33.96 to 354mm) in outer diameter. Silver-plated bolts are designed to obviate the need for anti-seize compound in clean room settings.
