When liquid or gas passes through a filter, and they contain some impurities, the metal mesh within the filter can remove small particulate matter or impurities. Any particulate matter larger than the size of the perforations in the screen mesh is prevented from passing through the specific filter core, and is thus forced to remain behind. Consequently, the liquid or gas released by the sanitary filter is free of contaminants.
