ISO Outer ring center ring with O-ring
Description
The ISO-KF system is a modular, building-block approach to constructing a piping system. There are numerous benefits to using ISO components. Because the dimensions of the components are standardized, elbows, tees, crosses, or valves of a specific size can be interchanged.
The flanges are "genderless," and the seal is symmetrical, which allows components to rotate. Utilizing ISO components makes system assembly fast and cost-efficient. Refer to Figure 1 for the ISO dimensions of flange sizes 10, 16, 25, 40, and 50. These dimensions are consistent for ISO-KF flanges of these nominal diameters throughout this catalog.
Optional fastening flanges are secured around the perimeter with clamps. Double claw clamps are used to connect a pair of OF flanges, while single claw clamps are employed to join an OF flange to a tapped, nonrotatable fitting on a pump or gate valve. This fastening method permits the OF flange to rotate, simplifying component alignment. Additionally, a rotatable bolt ring can be used to connect an OF flange to a nonrotatable flange with bolts.
A retainer ring prevents the OF flange from slipping through the bolt ring. Nonrotatable ISO flanges are secured with bolts and do not allow bolt holes on mating flanges to rotate for component alignment.
